This 13 days trip will take you around Uganda’s major 4 game parks and tourism cities among which include Lake Mburo national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, Murchison Falls national park, Kidepo Valley national park, Fort Portal, Kapchorwa (Sipi falls) and Mbale. The major activity is wildlife viewing, sightseeing and cultural experience.
Today is the begining of your amazing 13 days safari trip in Uganda. Your guide and driver will come and pick you from the hotel at 6:00am and you will head straight for a 5 hours drive to Lake Mburo National Park, you will make a stopover enroute at the Equator in Kayabwe for photographic impressions. This is the only park in Uganda with eland, impala and klipspringer. It is also home to the largest population of zebra in Uganda estimated at about 5,000 and probably contains the highest concentration of leopard found anywhere in Uganda. Buffalo, waterbucks, topi and warthogs are also common. Other animals include hyena, genet, bush pig, white tailed mongoose, hippos and giraffes. Once you reach the park vicinity, you will first check in your accommodation at comfort villa and leave behind a few of your baggage. We will then head inside the park and drive through for some game viewing. You will then head for a 30min lunch breake and head for a boat cruise experience on Lake Mburo where you will see several animals as they flock the shores to drink water and several water animals like hipos, birds and crocodiles. After your boat experience, we shall make another drive throughthe park for some game viewing as we head out to your accommodation, have dinner and rest.
After an early breakfast at 7:00am, you will start on a 3hrs journey to Uganda’s most visited game park Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park was originally known as the Kazinga National Park and it was later renamed after the Queen of England Elizabeth ii to commemorate her visit to the park. It occupies an estimated 1,978 square kilometers (764 sq mi) extending from lake George in the north east to lake Edward in the south-west and includes the Kazinga Channel which connects the two lakes. The park is famous for being a potential Lion stronghold in central Africa with their unique character of climbing trees. It is also a home for several other wildlife, including, African buffaloes, Uganda kob, Antelopes, Hippopotamus, Nile crocodiles, African bush elephants, African leopards, Chimpanzees. It is home to 95 mammal species and over 500 bird species. The park is also famous for its unique landscape comprising of volcanic features like volcanic cones such as Lake Katwe from which salt is extracted and the Mweya peninsula. Once we reach the park, you will head for a short tour of the twin lakes in Rubirizi area, head for lunch then heard for 3hrs boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. The Kazinga channel connects Lake George and Lake Edward. This will offer you a chance to see over 400 water bird species and quite a number of wild animals as they flock the channel to drink water, not forgetting the Hippopotamus family that is highly concentrated on the channel After your amazing boat cruise experience, we shall then drive towards the Katwe area of the park where you will have a short tour around the salt lake and the flamingo lake. You will then head tou your accommodation at Njovu Park lodge, have dinner and rest.
It’s a beautiful morning in the wild zone as you have your breakfast at 6:30am and after head straight for another amazing close encounter with nature. At 7:00am, we shall drive heading to the Kasenyi side of the park through the tracks where animals can best be viewed at a closer range as you capture your favorite moments. Queen Elizabeth Park is famous for being the home of tree climbing lions. Therefore, keep your eyes both on ground and in the trees. Other animals to see include Elephants, Buffaloes, Bush bucks, Leopard, Uganda Kob, Birds, Hippopotamus, After the game viewing, we shall then head to Katunguru town for a 40 min lunch break as you get ready for the Kyambura gorge trek experience The amazing Kyambura gorge is located in the far eastern corner of Queen Elizabeth Park, it is approximately 1km across at its broadest point and 100 meters deep, this gorge is actually drained by River Kyambura. The landscape is among the most impressive you will find in Uganda and it is swarmed with a rich wildlife bio-diversity that comprises of primates, wild animals as well as birds. You will head deep into the gorge guided by a wildlife park ranger for a marvel experience under the tropical rain-forest right close to the Equator crossing in search for the chimpanzee families, this will take you 3 to 4 hours. After your amazing experience of the day, you will then head back to your accommodation and rest.
After an early breakfast, at 7:00am we shall start on a 4 hours drive to the land of beauty for another memorable experience. Fort Portal is often referred to as the “tourism city of Uganda” and popular for its cleanliness and magnificent scenery not found in any other town in Uganda. It is dotted with numerous crater lakes and greenery canopies. On arrival in Fort Portal, you will head to the historical Amabere Caves with an inside waterfall. We shall then head for a mini hike to the top of a hill where you will be able to see five crater lakes in different directions with a magnificent view of the landscape surrounding you. lunch will be served at this place. After your amazing experience, we shall then head to your accommodation at Nightrose hotel and you rest.
Today is a relaxing adventurous day , after breakfast, you shall then head for a crater lakes view drive on top of Ndali hill and top of the world view point. Up hill lies the famous top of the world view point which most travelers consider one of the world’s spectacular view point. Here you can view the canopy of the famous Kibale Forest, home of the largest population of chimpanzees in the whole world alongside beautiful views of crater lakes. We shall then head for a nature walk along Lake Nkuruba home of the black and white colobus monkeys. We shall lunch in this very place after which we shall drive up hill to Ndali lodge for a relaxing moment of a drink up. From here, we shall then head back to your accommodation for your final night in Fort Portal. How you spend your night is all in your hands at this point.
There are very few National Parks in East Africa with the diversity of habitats found within this Park. The park has 76 different mammal species including Giraffes (these can’t be viewed in Queen Elizabeth park). Other animals include Lions, Elephants, hippos, leopards, buffaloes, hyenas, warthogs and various antelopes. The highlight of this trip is the mighty River Nile which bisects the park and is forced through an 8m wide cleft in the rock at Murchison Falls (the world’s strongest water fall to forests) from which the park gets its name. You will an early breakfast and we head directly for a 7hrs journey to Murchison Falls using the Hoima, Masindi route. We shall stop in Masindi town to take a packed lunch and carry on to Murchison through the Masindi gate, then; Trek the Top of the falls, a guide will walk you around the thunderous Murchison Falls, with an optional mini-hike to view the sister falls, Uhuru, which were created in 1962 when the river burst its banks. After the trek, we shall then head to your accommodation to check in for the night, have dinner and rest.
After an early breakfast at 7:00am, we shall go for a 5 hours game drive around the Buligi game tracks, which stretch between the Victoria and Albert Niles, and down to the Nile-Lake Albert Delta. Most of the park’s game and birdlife can be viewed from here, but please note – nothing is guaranteed! The park has 76 different mammal species including Giraffes (these can’t be viewed in Queen Elizabeth Park). Other animals include Lions, Elephants, hippos, leopards, buffaloes, hyenas, warthogs and various antelopes. We shall then head for lunch as you get ready for a 3 hour boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of the falls, along the way you will be able to view a wide variety of birds and wildlife, including numerous hippos and crocodiles – as well as breathtaking scenery. Cold drinks are for sale on boar. From the boat experience, you will then head back to your accpmmodation and rest.
Kidepo Valley National Park is Africa’s finest wilderness, rated the best on the continent for a spectacular landscape and great buffalo herds (CNN Travel 2013). It is located in the remote north eastern corner of Uganda, spanning the unadulterated ragged semi-arid valleys and savanna plains of the Karamoja province. The park supports plenty of wildlife including several animals and birds which are not found in other national parks, such as Cheetahs and Ostriches. Due to its distant and remote location, the park is not easily accessible within a one day’s drive. After an early breakfast, we sahll start on the 8 hours long drive to Kidepo reaching in the late afternoon. After lunch, you will visit a local community of the Karamajong tribe who are very similar to the famous Masai of Kenya. Learn about their traditions and cultures, unique housing, ornaments, and crafts. You shall also be treated to a traditional dance presentation. Return in the evening for dinner and overnight.
You should be up by the first light, have quick breakfast and set off for a beautiful safari adventure in Kidepo’s incredible wilderness. Enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the rugged horizon and savanna/acacia grasslands and observe plenty of animals when you drive through the two main biomes of Kidepo – from the savanna/acacia grasslands of the Narus Valley in the south, to the semi-arid short grass of Kidepo Valley in the north near the border with South Sudan. Kidepo National Park is very popular for cats, some of which cannot be found in any other parks in Uganda, such as the Cheetah, Stripped Hyena, Aardwolf, Bat-eared Fox, and Caracal. Others game include Lions, Leopards, Zebra, Giraffe, Kob, Topi, Waterbuck, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Oribi, and Warthog. The Ostrich is one of the conspicuous birds here and which you cannot find in any other park in Uganda. Not to be missed is the famous sand river and the Kanangorok hot springs both found in the Kidepo Valley, north of the park. If it is a dry day, you shall have picnic lunch at the dry sand river in Kidepo, one of the most beautiful experiences you can have on safari.
On this day we shall just have a transfer from kidepo National park to Kapchorwa using the Soroti - Mbale route. After an early breakfast, by 7:00am we shall start on a 9 hrs journey to Sipi falls, you will have a mini game drive as we are exiting the park. We shall have lunch in soroti town, embark on the journey and reach Kapchorwa in the late afternoon, check in your accommodation at Lacam lodge and rest overnight.
From a great night out there with hissing sounds of the water falls, you will have an early breakfast, then start on the amazing Sipi falls hike adventure. Sipi falls is comprised of 3 waterfalls each flowing from a different altitude. The highest fall drops from an altitude of 100m referred to as the main fall since it is the last fall in the series, this fall is a little biger than the other two falls, but all give Uganda a beautiful scenery. After the falls hike shall then have a short coffee tour where you will experience locals processing their coffee locally untill a hot cup of freshly roasted and grinded coffee beans is served. you can join and take part in the process if you wish too. We shall then head back to the accommodation for a late lunch and then transfer to Mbale town (1 hour drive).
Today’s program is entirely in your hands since you are in the land of your childhood memories. At this point we are also eager for you to take us around your memory lanes in the area , this makes you the official guides of the day.
Today marks the end of your 13 days long adventure around Uganda, at this point you are left with a bunch of amazing memories to tell the world. After your breakfas, we shall then start on the 6 hrs journey back to your pickup point hotel in Entebbe / the airport for departure.
